A FORTIORI

A fortiori in Latin literally means "from the stronger (argument)". The term is used when drawing a conclusion that's even more obvious or convincing than the one just drawn. If God can do the harder thing, He easily can do the easier thing.

Elijah and Positional Truth

1 Ki 17:1-7 The Drought - Dry Creek Bed (Conditional Truth)
The Word of the LORD said - go desert training
*** God protects life - desert for a time
“Where God guides, He provides” provisions in the desert
Elijah makes the drought and now is dependent on God
Watchman Nee, “we look at the bucket instead of the fountain, He changes the source to keep our eyes fixed”
The dry creek bed is a channel through which God can flow
a mixture of natural (brook) and supernatural (ravens)
The sin of statistics - looking at creek get lower, calculate how long it will last. look at sight and not see what God can do. don’t calculate God’s potential by your assets!
1 Ki 17:8-16 The Widow - Empty Barrel (Conditional Truth)
***God sustains life
The Word of the LORD came to him and said GO
to a widow a gentile near Jezebels hometown who has very limited assets.
A little grain, a little oil, and two sticks
An empty barrel for an Almighty God to fill
Elijah’s assets were unlimited.
Jn 4 a well of living water, a Savior who is the Bread of Life
1 Ki 17:17-24 The Dead Son - No Life (Conditional Truth)
He was dead v:17;21-22
James 2:26 “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”
John 9:2 “And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?””
Looking for blame. Blame Game. Who did this? Focus on the empty bucket instead of the fountain.
***God imparts life
Elijah was in training, as are all of us. He security was that The Word of the LORD told him certain things. He walked by faith, believing and saw great things. If God can do the difficult things He certainly can do the easier.
Know Word of God is True.
He would need this history to battle the prophets of baal.
